A centre of Non-Formal Sanskrit Education of Central Sanskrit University (Formerly Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Deemed to be University) under Ministry of Education, Govt. of India is established in B. P. Chaliha College on 31.10.2022. Non-Formal Sanskrit Education Centre B. P. Chaliha College is one of the 200 Centres of Central Sanskrit University all over India. Authorised officer of this Centre is Dr. Kamal Chandra Pathak (Principal of B. P. Chaliha College); Name of the Coordinator is Bidyut Dutta (Assistant Professor & HOD of the Department of Assamese) and Name of the appointed Teacher is Dr. Lakshman Roy.
ABOUT THE CENTRAL SANSKRIT UNIVERSITY, NEW DELHI
To develop and promote Sanskrit all over the country and abroad, the Government of India constituted a Central Sanskrit Board which recommended the establishment of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan on 15th October 1970 as an autonomous organization. In 2002, the Sansthan was declared as a Deemed University by Ministry of Human Resource Development on the recommendation of University Grant Commission. The Non formal Sanskrit Education scheme was launched for those who desires to learn this great language in the non-formal educational path. OBJECTIVES:
(i) Sanskrit is a Scientific Language. There are so many treatises related to Agriculture, Arts, Literature, Science, Philosophy, Management, Technology, Ayurveda, Law etc are well preserved in Sanskrit.
(ii) One can access the scientific knowledge inherited in Sanskrit literature by learning the language through direct communicative method at Non-Formal Sanskrit Education Centre.
AIMS
(I) To initiate Sanskrit learning.
(II) To introduce science and literature in Sanskrit Language.
(III) To get a working knowledge in illustrious Sanskrit, the Scientific Language of the world.
(IV) This course will provide the basic knowledge for higher studies in Sanskrit/Yoga/Ayurveda/various Distance Education Programmes of Central Sanskrit University.
Eligibility
(i) Any person who has completed the HSLC or equivalent exam, he or she can apply for the admission.
(ii) Who have passed the First Course ‘Certificate Course in Sanskrit Language’ conducted by the Central Sanskrit University will be eligible for admission in the Second Course naming ‘Diploma in Sanskrit Language’.
