Department of Commerce was proposed in the college during the year 2010 with a dream of providing guidance and opportunity to the students of Nagarbera and the surrounding area and with this aim the Commerce stream was first inaugurated on 4th August, 2018. The first batch was started with a total of 30 enrollment and two faculty members who worked tirelessly for the upliftment of the department. At present, three faculty members are working in the department with an enrollment of more than 150 students every year and two batches graduated with good academic performances in the last two years . The department have a separate staff room with necessary amenities, well organized classrooms, drinking water and wifi–facility. The teaching-learning process in the department is supplemented by interactive sessions with the students, use of power – point presentation, etc to stimulate the communication skills of the students. In the past years, the department has conducted webinars and seminars with the help of the college authorities. Further, the department organized an online career awareness programme to create awareness about the various career opportunities that can be availed by the students after graduation. The students of the department actively participate in the various programmes such as college week, students’ union election, quiz competition or any other cultural event organized by the college.We focus on overall development of our students and hence, we encourage them to take part in various co-curricular and extra curricular activities like NSS, NCC and cultural events. Moreover, the department conducts remedial classes and the progress of our students is observed through mentoring. We empower the students with all the knowledge and guidance that they need to become worthy commerce professionals and thereby, providing for holistic and value based development of students which ultimately enhances their employability. Moreover, we create motivating environment to exploit full potential of the students
