The National Cadet Corps is the Indian military cadet corps with its head Quarters at New Delhi. The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, colleges and Universities all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades.
It aims to develop qualities of leadership, character, and service among young people in India. It is a tri-services organization comprising the Army, Navy, and Air Force and was established in 1948 under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
The NCC offers opportunities for college students to participate in a range of activities such as drill, firing, rock climbing, trekking, and social service. It also conducts camps, adventure activities, and national integration programs. The organization has strength of about 1.3 million cadets and 14,000 schools and colleges across India..
The NCC also plays a crucial role in promoting national integration and communal harmony in India. It has been involved in various disaster relief and social service activities, such as blood donation camps, tree plantation drives, and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Overall, the NCC is a dynamic organization that provides a platform for college students to develop their potential, hone their skills, and contribute to society. It instills discipline, courage, and leadership skills among its cadets, which are useful for all walks of life.
NCC Started in B.P Chaliha College in the Year 2020 under 30 Assam Battalion, Guwahati, with strength of 35 cadets, the authorized strength for now is 100 Cadets. Three batches of Cadets have been enrolled till now.

The NCC unit of the college celebrated NCC Day on 26 November 2023. Mr Arun Sarkar, Co-ordinator, IQAC, and Mrs Anita Keot, President of the teachers unit, delivered inspiring lectures. Cultural Program followed the lectures. A quiz competition was organized among the students.

The NCC Unit of B.P Chaliha College, Nagarbera conducted door to door distribution of National flags in adopted village of the institution to promote Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to mark the celebration of 75 Independence week under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The Principal of the college, Dr. Kamal Ch. Pathak appreciated the cadets for paying a tribute to the Indian national flag by distributing it to different houses and communities. He also encouraged the cadets to participate in the celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence more enthusiastically.The event was coordinated by CTO and other faculty members.

Principal Dr. B.B Panda has started the event by a speech on the importance on environment and encouraged the students to make the College campus “Clean and Green” and pollution free. In keeping with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, National Cadet Corps (NCC) has initiated a nationwide flagship campaign ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyan’ to clean seashores/beaches and other water bodies, including rivers and lakes of plastic & other waste material. Under the Puneet Sagar Abhiyan, B.P Chaliha NCC unit conducted a cleanliness drive at Jaljali river on 2.04.2022. During the drive, people were made aware about cleanliness through cleaning the river and posters.

NCC Cadets from B.P Chaliha participated in the inter-battalion shooting competition held in Makri Fire range, Daporvita in Golapara district. The cadets were trained to use the .22 rifle gun and weapons training classes were also taken together during the competition.
