 | Library orientation Programme | The Central Library of B.P. Chaliha College, Nagarbera, organised a Library Orientation Programme for the newly admitted students of B.A., B.Sc., B.Com. First Semester and H.S. First Year for the session 2025–2026. The programme was conducted from 27 August 2025 to 4 September 2025, by Dr. Rubi Baishya, Librarian, B.P. Chaliha College. The main objective of the programme was to introduce the newly admitted students to the Central Library, its services, resources and various activities. The programme was conducted department-wise for the degree students, while a separate orientation programme was organised for H.S. First Year students. During the orientation, students were familiarised with the library rules and regulations, book borrowing and returning procedures, arrangement of books, reading room facilities, and the use of different library resources. They were also encouraged to make regular use of the library and develop a good reading habit. | |
 | Observance of National Librarians' Day, 2025 | On the occasion of the 133rd Birth Anniversary of Padma Shri Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India, National Librarians’ Day was observed at the Central Library, B. P. Chaliha College, Nagarbera, on 12 August 2025 at 11:00 AM. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by the Principal, Dr. Kamal Chandra Pathak, in the presence of students and library staff. The occasion was observed with due respect to the great contribution of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan to the field of library and information science. The programme also provided an opportunity for the students and library staff to remember his vision and contribution to the development of libraries in India. The observance concluded in a simple and meaningful manner, with everyone paying tribute to the Father of Library Science and reaffirming the importance of libraries in promoting knowledge and learning. | |
 | Library Orientation Programme | The Central Library , B.P.Chaliha College organised the library orientation Programme for newly admitted students of B.A/ B.Sc/ B.com first semester for the session 2024-2025. The primary objective of the programme is to introduce and popularize library activities among the students of B.P.Chaliha College, Nagarbera from 02-09-2024 to 07-09-2024 guided by Dr. Rubi Baishya, Librarian, B.P.Chaliha College . But due to some internal reasons, some departments are rescheduled for the programme.The programme encourages the reading habit among the students. Besides, they have learnt how to use the library resources properly. Besides, the library orientation for H.S 1st year (Arts/science) was held on 21/09/2024 at Hall No 4 of our college to popularised library activities and proper use of library facilities guided by Dr. Rubi Baishya, Librarian, B.P.Chaliha college. | |
